Geoffrey noted that while he was initially “devastated” when the photo went viral, he ended up receiving tons of supportive messages from people “all over the world.”

“My wife and I started to read these responses from literally all over the world of support, and so, fortunately, the shame part didn’t last very long. It hurt, but then it’s just amazing,” he said.

“There is no job that’s better than another job,” he went on. “It might pay better. It might have better benefits. It might look better on a resume and on paper, but actually it’s not better. Every job is worthwhile and valuable.”

These remarks from Geoffrey — who has had several acting jobs since his time on The Cosby Show — ended up sparking a broader conversation around actors who also work “normal” jobs in order to make ends meet.
